Switzerland defeated Turkey 3-1 (2-0) in the Euro 2021 group A.
Switzerland started the match best and took the lead when Haris Seferovic scored a goal after 6 minutes, with an assist by Steven Zuber, making it 0-1.
The team also increased their lead to 2-0, as Xherdan Shaqiri scored a goal, with an assist by Steven Zuber, in the 26th minute.
With barely 30 minutes on the clock, Turkey’s Irfan Kahveci scored a goal, from a pass from Hakan Çalhanoğlu, and plugged one back for Turkey. However, Turkey were unable to make more of an impression.
In the 68th minute, Xherdan Shaqiri scored a goal, with an assist by Steven Zuber, to increase the lead for Switzerland. The 3-1 goal was the last one of the game.
The qualifiers are over and Switzerland finished in third place and Turkey in fourth. Switzerland secured their spot in the playoffs.
