The prior Blancos celebrity can appreciate why rumours have been sparked, but he believes that the teenage striker’s development will be better served in Germany.

Erling Haaland has been warned it’s”too soon” to be considering a change from Borussia Dortmund into Real Madrid, with Steve McManaman holding up Luka Jovic as an illustration to the teenage striker of how things can go wrong in Spain.

The Blancos raided the Bundesliga positions for another frontman through summertime window of 2019.

Serbia global Jovic was snapped up on the back of a successful campaign with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Zinedine Zidane is currently being linked with alternative options in the final third of the field, with assistance and competition required for Karim Benzema.

Haaland’s stunning exploits across the 2019-20 effort have seen him mooted as a potential target.

McManaman can see why Real would be keen on a player with such possible, but he believes Haaland’s continuing development will be best served in Germany, particularly since Madrid are also thought to be considering Paris Saint-Germain celebrity Kylian Mbappe.

He appears to be happy and more importantly he is playing regularly and scoring goals,” McManaman informed HorseRacing.net of the Haaland rumours.

“He must stay, he must play and he must find a few more years under his belt.

“He should proceed when he is a seasoned player after playing 200 or so games for Dortmund and playing 20 to 30 matches in the Champions League, which he must do.

“He can not just go and jump ship and go to Real Madrid. You have seen what has happened to Luka Jovic this year, he has barely kicked a ball for Real Madrid after having a wonderful season this past year in Germany.

“Haaland doesn’t require that pressure. In addition to that, I have discovered that Real Madrid are interested in Kylian Mbappe rather, so the two of them don’t have to be there at exactly the exact same time.”

Haaland has hit 40 goals across all competitions this year, in only 33 games, with Dortmund eager to make sure that they remain the ones to gain from his undoubted ability for the near future.
