Whoa! What a Matchday 12 we have just had the privilege of experiencing in the Bundesliga this weekend!

Of course, many will have been left shell-shocked – although perhaps not as much as those at FC Bayern Munich – on Friday night as the Bundesliga champions were handed a 2-1 defeat to Bavarian rivals, FC Augsburg.

Bayern entered the game as extremely strong favourites to win the contest and many would have expected them to provide them as much joy as playing at lotto thaibet continues to bring. However, they would have been left frustrated, shocked and angry about what had happened.

That 2-1 defeat on Friday left the door open for Borussia Dortmund to take advantage and they duly obliged, as they managed to record a 2-1 victory for themselves against VfB Stuttgart. In doing so, Marco Reus’ late winner meant the BVB would end Matchday 12 just one point behind Die Roten, thus potentially giving fans an interesting fight at the top of the table.

SC Freiburg have been performing above all expectations at the moment, however whilst they held onto their third-placed position in the table, they did suffer their second defeat in a row when they were beaten 2-0 by Eintracht Frankfurt; who managed to jump up to 11th as a result of the win.

Whilst the Bavarian derby may have been on Friday night, Saturday night brought fans the Berlin derby as Union Berlin hosted Hertha Berlin and dispatched them with a famous 2-0 victory that many will be celebrating for a time to come.

Bayer Leverkusen made hard work of their victory against VfL Bochum as they won 1-0 courtesy of a 4th-minute effort by Amine Adil. That win saw the club move up the table and into fourth.

An entertaining fixture between Arminia Bielefeld and Wolfsburg took place on Saturday, with four goals being scored. The match may have ended 2-2, however the hosts would have been disappointed to let their two-goal slip and settle for a point, especially as they fight at the bottom of the table.

Speaking of the bottom of the Bundesliga, SpVgg Greuther Furth currently prop everybody else up at the foot with just a solitary point so far, and things did not get better for them on Saturday as they were dismantled by Borussia Monchengladbach. The hosts had put four past them that were unanswered in a comprehensive victory.

TSG Hoffenheim managed to overcome RB Leipzig 2-0 whilst 1. FC Koln secured a 1-1 draw against Mainz 05 to round off Matchday 12.
