Jadon Sancho has made headlines in recent weeks, with the Independent reporting Sancho could be on the move in January. A host of top European clubs will be on alert at Sancho’s potential departure. The independent reported Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United were all interested in signing the 19-year-old. It would be a surprise if Real Madrid were to make a move. With Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo both showing signs of promising potential as well as Eden Hazard’s recent arrival; not to mention the injured Marco Asensio, a move for Sancho seems unlikely. It appears the Premier League is a likely destination for Sancho.

Manchester United are expected to make a move for Sancho, he is the ideal addition to their lacklustre attack. There is a vacant position on the right which wasn’t addressed in the summer and Sancho certainly has the attacking capabilities that United are crying out for. A move could be likely, with United’s recent reputation of spending lump sums on transfers, they would be more than willing to pay any price Dortmund ask for.

Liverpool have also been linked, as per the same source, and a move would make perfect sense. Their current forward line is clinical – which shows in all three of the players’ figures this season – however, there is little depth in the forward line. Shaqiri and Origi are the only senior forwards that could step in, which shows a lack of quality in depth. Sancho would be a perfect fit in Liverpool’s squad and would be an increase in the quality of depth. This also allows for better rotation in their forward line, which can reduce the risk of any potential injury with the resting of players.

Although Chelsea haven’t been linked with a move for Sancho, primarily down to their transfer ban, a move could be likely. Chelsea were banned from signing any players in the summer window and this is due to continue through the January window (Skysports.com). Sky Sports also reported Chelsea have appealed the transfer ban and they could potentially have the ban lifted. Chelsea-news.co allegedly found evidence to suggest Sancho is a Chelsea fan, which could give Chelsea an upper hand if they decided to make a move.

A move back to Manchester City may seem the least likely. However, you would expect City to at least match any bid from a Premier League rival. This may seem as if City would solely sign Sancho to prevent him from joining a rival team but there could certainly be room for him at the club. The Metro (via Sport Bild) report that Bayern Munich are set to renew their interest in Leroy Sane, which would leave a vacant winger position available. With Sterling also thriving on the left-hand side for club and country this season, it means Sancho could play his favoured position on the right.

The future of Jadon Sancho is yet to be decided, although it seems his future does lie away from Dortmund. It will be interesting to see what twists and turns this potential transfer saga will take. Will Sancho return to England despite Dortmund reportedly slapping a £100m price on his head? Only time will tell.
